How are we already almost in July?! Hopefully this will be the end of June Gloom if so!
Our blackberries are fruiting nicely and slowly but surely turning dark purple. I actually tasted one this week : ) Basil has been wanting to flower, so I have been deadheading them. We recently got some medicinal plant seeds too which I sowed this week. Would be nice to make teas with those. On trend....the tomatoes are still mostly green. The most successful tomato crop right now is the 'Golden Pear' variety, which as been making our Hike & Harvest participants happy.
We have a garden dinner tomorrow night which is being prepared by chef David Wilcox of 'Journeymen.' It is not too late to get tickets if you wish to attend. Next Sunday July 8 we also have a 'Coffee Ceremony' hosted by Ani from 11am-2pm. Check out those details under our 'Experiences & Events' link: http://saddlerockgardens.org/events?view=calendar&month=July-2018
Have a great weekend and July 4th!
