Natural Dye & Aromatherapy Workshop

Join us Nov. 4th 11am at Saddlerock Gardens for a magical day filled with natural dyeing and aromatherapy in this exclusive one day master class designed to tap into your creativity. Inspired by the approach of Autumn and the beauty of the harvest season, you will be guided to create a naturally dyed scarf and a custom aromatherapy oil blend inspired by the Sacred Tree. This workshop is hosted by textile designer Hilary L Hahn and aromatherapist, Flin Kirts Grant of Art of Essentials

Combining beautiful blues of natural indigo and earthy peach of madder root to create your own indigo sunsets on a naturally dyed scarf for autumn. This is the perfect activity prior to the holidays to relax and enjoy. Delve into the alchemy of dye, as you mix and layer indigo pigment with madder reds dye. You will gain knowledge and skills to use indigo and madder at home. All levels welcome.

Custom Aromatherapy Oil Blend - The Sacred Tree:

Every ancient culture with a reverence for nature has a sacred grove of trees for rituals or safe harbor. We will combine each of the plant parts used in aromatherapy and create our own sacred tree blends from the ground up, and everyone will take home their own unique rollerball blend. Essential oil origins and natural perfumery notes will be included in this restorative and inspiring aromatic workshop, as we soak in the beautiful environment surrounding us! Well suited for beginners and advanced students alike.

Workshop Itinerary:
11:00am-12:30pm - Indigo Horizons Dyeing
12:30 lunch break (Bring your own lunch)
1:00-2:00pm - Aromatherapy
2:00-2:30pm - Additional Blends

All materials, scarf blank and custom roller ball are included in this workshop. If time allows, you may bring 1 additional textile item to dip. Additional blends may be made for gifts after the workshop, from 2-2:30pm, for $20 each

Prior to the event, you will receive an email that includes all of the details that you will need for your day.

Creative Sundays workshops are designed to unite creative people, inspire and ignite your passion, while offering an opportunity to work with your hands.
